Your actual permission to stay is recorded by Thai immigration when you enter Thailand or receive an approved extension. For a holder of the <\/span>Privilege Entry Visa (PE)<\/b>, Thailand Privilege currently states that permission to stay may be granted for up to one year per entry, subject to passport validity, visa validity, and the immigration record issued at the time of entry.<\/span>\r\n\r\nHere is how the Thailand Privilege stay extension process works in 2026.<\/span>\r\n

It also notes that the period of stay may be subject to the discretion of the Thai immigration officer. Does a 5-Year Membership Mean a Single 5-Year Stay?<\/b><\/h2>\r\nNo. A 5-year Thailand Privilege membership does not mean you can remain in Thailand continuously for five years under one entry or one permission-to-stay stamp.<\/b>\r\n\r\nA member holding a Privilege Entry Visa may generally receive permission to stay for up to one year per entry. Before that permission expires, the member must either apply for an appropriate extension or leave Thailand and later return under the applicable visa and immigration conditions.<\/span>\r\n\r\nThe same principle applies to longer memberships. A 10-year, 15-year, or 20-year membership does not automatically create one uninterrupted stay for the entire membership period.<\/span>\r\n

How the Thailand Privilege 1-Year Stay Works<\/b><\/h2>\r\nThe one-year-per-entry concept applies to holders of the <\/span>Privilege Entry Visa (PE)<\/b>. Thailand Privilege\u2019s published guidance states that PE visa holders may receive permission to stay in Thailand for up to one year per visit.<\/span>\r\n\r\nThe process works broadly as follows:<\/span>\r\n

Thailand Privilege states that the permitted period may be shorter if your passport or visa has less than one year of validity remaining. The actual date written or recorded by Thai immigration controls your individual case.<\/span>\r\n\r\nAlways check the arrival stamp after entering Thailand. If the stamp appears to contain an error, Thailand Privilege advises members to notify immigration or the relevant assistance channel before leaving the airport and before the permitted stay expires.<\/span>\r\n

    What Is a Thailand Privilege Stay Extension?<\/b><\/h2>\r\nA Thailand Privilege stay extension is an application to continue your current permission to stay beyond the date shown on your arrival stamp or previous extension stamp.<\/span>\r\n\r\nIt is not the purchase of an additional membership year.
